Buddy Program
Prism Music Education's 'Buddy Program' pairs young beginner musicians with experienced, older mentors to guide them through their musical journey. By fostering a supportive relationship, this program helps the beginners build confidence, develop their skills, and gain insight into the challenges and joys of being a musician. The older "buddy" offers guidance, encouragement, and wisdom, creating a nurturing environment where both parties can grow, exchange ideas, and form a lasting musical bond.
BUDDY DUTIES
Buddies are carefully matched based on compatible goals, interests, and skills. Duties as a buddy include:
1. Perform a piece with your buddy at the recital
2. Support your buddy during competition season
3. Check in with your buddy to reflect on progress. The older buddy offers constructive feedback while also learning from the experience of teaching and guiding someone else.
QUALIFICATIONS
To join the Buddy Program, you must meet all three of these requirements:
1. Perform at least one memorized piece at one recital during the previous semester
2. Eligible to join the next competition (teacher approval required), either as a participant or a gamemaker
